Traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges in Marshall County

MARSHALL COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) — A Murray man faces multiple drug charges after deputies allegedly found several suspected controlled substances during a traffic stop.

Marshall County sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle near U.S. Highway 68 East and Beale Road around 8:17 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5, after reportedly observing several traffic violations.

During the investigation, deputies said the driver, identified as 63-year-old Donald W. Carson, was allegedly found with suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, hydrocodone, oxycodone, marijuana and psilocybin mushrooms.

Authorities also reported finding cash and drug paraphernalia they believe indicated illegal narcotics trafficking.

Carson is charged with first-degree possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and hydrocodone. He also faces additional controlled-substance charges, marijuana trafficking, second-degree trafficking in a controlled substance involving a hallucinogen, possession of drug paraphernalia and several traffic-related offenses.

Carson was booked into the Marshall County Detention Center.
