Two men arrested after fleeing from Livingston County deputies

LEDBETTER, Ky., (KBSI) — Two men were arrested after separate foot pursuits in Livingston County on Monday, according to the sheriff’s office.

Deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 60 in Ledbetter around 8:23 p.m. Sept. 8 after determining its registration had been canceled.

The vehicle continued to a home on Loretta Drive, where the driver allegedly got out and ran. Deputy Andrew Whitworth pursued the driver and took him into custody.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Jesus Rodriguez of Ledbetter, was charged with having no registration plates, failing to produce proof of insurance, having no operator’s or moped license and second-degree fleeing or evading police on foot.

While deputies were at the residence, 35-year-old Francisco Jesus Angulo Mendez allegedly ran from them. The sheriff’s office said Mendez ignored repeated commands to stop before Deputy Brandon Vargas took him into custody.

Mendez was charged with third-degree fleeing or evading police, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both men were booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.

The charges are accusations. Both men are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
