Police investigate overnight gunfire after two people arrive at hospital with gunshot wounds

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) – Police are investigating three separate reports of gunfire, including a shooting that left two people wounded.
Officers responded around midnight Sept. 8 to the 100 block of South Main Street after receiving a report of shots fired. Investigators found evidence that a shot had been fired, but no injuries or property damage were reported.
About 2:45 a.m., officers responded to another report of shots fired in the 1100 block of William Street. Evidence of gunfire was found in the area, but police reported no injuries or property damage.
Around 3 a.m., officers were called to an area hospital after two people arrived with gunshot wounds. Their injuries were not considered life-threatening.
No arrests have been made in any of the cases. All three investigations remain ongoing. Police have not said whether the incidents are connected.
