ALTENBURG, Mo. (KBSI) — Organizers have released information for the 2026 East Perry Community Fair parade in Altenburg.
The parade will begin at 1:30 p.m. on the Friday of the fair. Registration is not required, but participants should arrive before 12:30 p.m. The parade committee will determine each entry’s location in the lineup.
Bands, floats and schoolchildren will line up at Immanuel Lutheran Church. All other participants will line up along Maple Street.
Organizers said brochures, pamphlets and other materials may not be distributed along the parade route. Candy and other items may be handed or thrown to spectators from vehicles, floats or by people walking in the parade.
Motor vehicle operators and horseback riders are prohibited from throwing candy or other items during the parade.
Parking for horse trailers will be available in the lot south of Fair Road. Riders must follow parking attendants’ directions and may not ride horses in the fairgrounds or parking lots.
The parade will end just east of the pull track on Oak Street. Participants must remain in the parade until reaching the end of the route unless other arrangements have been made.
Stopping along the parade route is prohibited except during an emergency. Vehicles that stop may be barred from participating in future parades. Due to narrow streets and tight turns, tractor-trailers and other large vehicles will not be allowed.
