Southern Illinois walk raises awareness for suicide prevention

COBDEN, Ill., (KBSI) — Community members gathered Saturday, Sept. 12, for the annual Out of the Darkness Southern Illinois Walk.
The event raises awareness about suicide prevention, supports people affected by suicide and reminds those struggling with their mental health that help is available.
Staff members from Rural Health Inc. participated in the walk alongside community members, volunteers and donors.
Rural Health encourages anyone struggling with their mental health to speak with someone they trust, contact a mental health professional or seek help from a local provider.
