South Fulton students learn budgeting skills at financial fair

SOUTH FULTON, Tenn., (KBSI) — Seventh graders at South Fulton Middle School recently received hands-on experience managing money during a financial fair.

Students were assigned realistic incomes and expenses before visiting stations where they paid bills, made purchasing decisions and worked to balance their budgets.

The activity challenged students to distinguish between needs and wants while considering how each choice affected the amount of money they had available.

Leaders Credit Union sponsored the event, which was designed to help students apply financial literacy lessons to situations they may encounter as adults.
