SIU forestry professor Kofi Akamani dies; vigil planned Tuesday

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Southern Illinois University’s forestry program is mourning the death of professor Kofi Akamani.

In a Facebook post, the program described Akamani as kind and dedicated and said he was loved by colleagues at SIU and around the world.

A vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday on the front lawn of the Agriculture Building. A memorial will be held at a later date.
