Mechanical failure causes vehicle fire in Cape Girardeau County

GORDONVILLE, Mo., (KBSI) — No injuries were reported after a vehicle caught fire Monday morning on County Road 203.

The Gordonville Fire Protection District was dispatched to the scene at 10:23 a.m. Firefighters arrived about seven minutes later and found the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.

Crews contained and extinguished the fire with support from an additional tanker. All units cleared the scene around 11:30 a.m.

Fire officials determined the blaze was caused by a mechanical failure.
