Man critically injured after car hits pole, business on Main Street

FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ky., (KBSI) – A man was taken to a hospital in critical condition Monday evening after his car struck a communications pole and came to rest against a business on Main Street, according to Cave-Eastern Fire Protection District Chief Kenny Gaither.

Firefighters were dispatched about 7:45 p.m. Sept. 28 to a report of a car hitting a building and wires down. Crews found the pole broken at its base, the car against the front of the business and damage to both the vehicle and building.

The driver was the only person in the car and was still inside when emergency crews arrived. Officials did not release his name or further details about his injuries.

AMR Ambulance, the Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Franklin County O.E.M.C. assisted at the scene.
