Carbondale police discuss digital evidence with SIU students

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) — Carbondale Police Department staff recently spoke with Southern Illinois University Carbondale students about the role of digital evidence in modern investigations.

Lt. Jarin Dunnigan and information technology specialist Aiden Mandel, members of the department’s Support Service Division, visited associate professor Tom Imboden’s cyber forensics class.

The discussion covered how technology can support investigations, improve community safety and promote accountability in law enforcement, according to the department.
