Teen taken into custody after Cape Girardeau shooting

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., (KBSI) — Police took a 16-year-old into custody Oct. 7 in connection with a shooting that injured one person three days earlier.
Cape Girardeau police responded to the 3000 block of Aspen around 4:40 p.m. Oct. 4 and found a person with a gunshot wound to the chest.
Officers provided first aid until medical personnel arrived. The victim was taken to an area hospital for treatment.
Investigators identified the juvenile as a suspect and determined a domestic dispute between the teen and the victim preceded the shooting, according to police.
Officers located the teen Oct. 7 and turned the juvenile over to juvenile authorities. Police did not announce specific charges.
