Carbondale police seek volunteers for annual Pumpkin Patrol

CARBONDALE, Ill., (KBSI) – The Carbondale Police Department is seeking volunteers for its annual Pumpkin Patrol on Saturday, Oct. 31.

The Halloween safety patrol will operate from 4 to 8 p.m. in neighborhoods where children are trick-or-treating.

The department has sponsored the event since 1992.

Volunteers wearing orange safety vests or driving vehicles displaying the Pumpkin Patrol logo will patrol neighborhoods to identify potential hazards and provide assistance to children when needed.

Police also encourage parents and other adults to accompany children while trick-or-treating.
