ELDORADO, Ill., (KBSI) — The Eldorado Community Unit School District 4 is mourning the death of a former student who was killed in a crash involving a dirt bike and a pickup truck Tuesday evening.
Superintendent Cody Cusic identified the former student as Nolan Rogers in a letter to district families and community members Wednesday, Oct. 14.
The crash happened shortly before 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 13, at the intersection of Locust and West streets in Eldorado.

“On behalf of Eldorado CUSD #4, we extend our heartfelt thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Nolan’s family, friends, classmates, teachers, and everyone who knew and cared about him,” Cusic wrote.
The district announced that counselors, social workers and other support staff will be available to students and employees who need emotional support.
“During difficult times like these, it is important that we come together as a school and community to support one another,” Cusic wrote.
The intersection was temporarily closed while emergency crews responded to the crash but has since reopened.
The district is encouraging students, staff and community members to support one another as they mourn Rogers’ death.
