JACKSON, Mo., (KBSI) — A 34-year-old man faces a felony drug trafficking charge after authorities executed a search warrant at a home in Jackson.
According to the Cape Girardeau County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and members of the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force executed a search warrant around 7:35 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at a residence in the 200 block of Daisy Avenue.
The search was part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
Authorities said Jacob Alexander Parrish, 34, was found outside the residence and taken into custody.
During the search, investigators discovered a bag containing approximately 4.5 grams of suspected fentanyl, including packaging. The substance field-tested positive for fentanyl.
Investigators also reported finding a digital scale, several straws containing white residue, plastic baggies with missing corners and two unidentified red pills.
The Cape Girardeau County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office charged Parrish with one count of second-degree drug trafficking, a Class B felony.
Judge Julia M. Koester issued an arrest warrant Thursday and set Parrish’s bond at $50,000 cash only.
Parrish is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
