POPLAR BLUFF, Mo., (KBSI) — Three Rivers College has named Davine Conover its 2026 Alumni Star in recognition of her contributions to education, financial literacy and community service throughout Southeast Missouri.

Conover will be honored during a reception from 4 to 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Westwood Center in Poplar Bluff. The award presentation is scheduled for 5 p.m.

Conover has more than 40 years of professional experience in education, business, community engagement and public speaking.

Her work focuses on financial literacy, fraud prevention, customer service, workplace mentoring and professional development.

What began as an effort to help students understand financial responsibility and recognize fraud has expanded into an educational outreach program serving people of all ages.

Conover has worked with local high schools to organize Reality Fairs, which teach students budgeting skills and help them understand the financial decisions they may face as adults.

She has also been involved with Downtown Poplar Bluff, collaborating with community volunteers and local leaders on projects including the Downtown Dog Park and Poplar Bluff Cruise-In Nights.

Conover is an active member of Memorial Baptist Church, where she serves in women’s and children’s ministries. She also volunteers with several local nonprofit organizations.

“I am deeply honored to be recognized as a Three Rivers College Alumni Star,” Conover said. “Three Rivers gave me more than an education; it gave me eight years of meaningful work in financial aid and advising, helped me recognize my passion for financial literacy, and prepared me to continue serving our region through my work with Ozark Federal Credit Union across the 25 counties that we serve.”

A 1982 graduate of Sikeston High School, Conover earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Hannibal-LaGrange College in 2010.

She returned to college as an adult while working full time, operating a business and raising two teenage sons.

Conover said her coworkers at Three Rivers encouraged her to pursue her degree through the Hannibal-LaGrange program offered at the college.

“The thought of adding college classes to that already full life was not only challenging, it was scary,” Conover said.

Conover said Three Rivers College has played an important role in her family’s education and careers.

Her husband, David, attended the college and later served as an adjunct psychology instructor. Their sons, Caleb and Joshua, also attended Three Rivers and pursued careers in public service.

Her cousin, Michael Price, a retired assistant U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Missouri, previously taught ethics at the college.

“Three Rivers did not contribute to the success of only one person in our family. It helped shape my whole family’s commitment to serving others,” Conover said.

The college’s Alumni Star award recognizes graduates who have made significant contributions to their professions and communities.

Those planning to attend the Nov. 2 reception are asked to RSVP by contacting Michelle Reynolds at 573-840-9077 or michellereynolds@trcc.edu.
