Saint Francis to host free symposium on substance use disorder Oct. 30

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) — Saint Francis Healthcare System will host its third annual Discovery to Recovery Symposium on Substance Use Disorder on Friday, Oct. 30, in Cape Girardeau.

The free community event will focus on the connection between childhood trauma, brain development and substance use disorder.

The symposium will feature expert-led discussions and educational sessions aimed at helping attendees better understand how childhood experiences can influence brain development and substance use.

The event will take place at the Drury Conference Center in Cape Girardeau.

Community members are invited to attend.
