Fatal two-vehicle crash closes U.S. 51 in Union County

UNION COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) — A fatal two-vehicle crash closed a portion of U.S. 51 in Union County on Wednesday morning, Oct. 28, according to Illinois State Police.

Troopers with Illinois State Police Troop 10 responded to the crash at the intersection of U.S. 51 and Big Creek Church Road around 9:23 a.m.

State police confirmed the crash was fatal but did not release information about the number of people killed or the circumstances surrounding the collision.

Authorities said U.S. 51 was closed and the crash scene remained active.
