HERRIN, Ill., (KBSI) – Students from Herrin High School’s Science Club recently visited Southern Illinois University Carbondale for SIU Preview Day, getting a firsthand look at college life and educational opportunities.

During the visit, students explored campus, learned about university clubs and scholarships, and attended college classes.

One highlight of the trip was a visit to a cadaver lab, where some students had the opportunity to hold real human hearts as part of a hands-on learning experience.

The visit gave students a chance to explore potential career interests and experience what college-level science education has to offer.

Herrin High School thanked SIU for hosting the students and providing an opportunity to learn more about their educational futures.
