Rep. Mike Bost releases statement following projected reelection victory

SOUTHERN ILLINOIS (KBSI) – U.S. Rep. Mike Bost, R-Illinois, released a statement Tuesday night following his projected reelection victory over Democratic challenger Julie Fortier in Illinois’ 12th Congressional District.

Bost thanked voters for their continued support and said he remains committed to representing Southern Illinois.

“Southern Illinois is my home, and there is no greater honor than representing the people and communities that shaped my life,” Bost said. “I’m incredibly grateful to the voters of Illinois’ 12th District who have once again placed their trust in me.”

Bost also thanked his campaign volunteers, supporters and voters who participated in the election.

“Tonight’s victory belongs to every volunteer, supporter, and voter who participated in this process,” Bost said. “We’ve got more work to do, and I’m ready to get back to it.”

The statement follows Bost’s projected victory. Official election results are subject to certification.
