1 arrested after more than $63K in cash, ‘ghost gun’ found after traffic stop

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – One person was arrested after Marion police found a “ghost gun” and more than $63,000 cash during a traffic stop.

A Marion Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for multiple traffic infractions around 12:49 p.m. on Saturday, May 27.

After conversation with the driver, the officer asked the driver for consent to search the vehicle. The driver gave consent.

Officers found an illegal weapon known as a “ghost gun” and more than $63,000 in cash.

The name of the driver  was being withheld by police. The driver was arrested and taken to the Williamson County Jail, pending an initial court appearance.
