1 arrested after police respond to burglary at Carbondale business

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – A Chicago man faces a burglary charge after police say he burglarized a Carbondale business.
Carlos J. Phenix, 67 of Chicago faces a charge of burglary.
Carbondale police officers responded to a business in the 400 block of North Illinois Avenue for a burglary alarm on October 14 at 4:07 a.m.
Officers found Phenix actively engaged in burglarizing the business, according to police.
Phenix ran from officers but was captured after a brief foot chase.
Property belonging to the business was found and returned.
Phenix was taken to the Jackson County Jail.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
