1 arrested, police looking for 2 more after police chase in Marion, IL

MARION, Ill. (KBSI) – One person was arrested and police are looking for two more suspects after a traffic stop turned into a foot chase in Marion.
A Marion Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a blue Cadillac Escalade for a traffic violation around 12:25 a.m. on Friday, May 26.
After the officer got out of his squad car to approach to vehicle, the Escalada sped away.
While officers were trying to “re-engage” with the Cadillac, the driver of the Cadillac stopped on Meadowland Parkway and three people got out of the vehicle and ran away.
Marion police officers searched the area with help from Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies and Illinois State Police troopers.
Officers came upon a fenced area containing three dumpsters.
Corey D. Williams, 35, of Cairo was is charges of manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance, possession of cannabis-more than 100 grams but less than 500 grams and resisting a peace officer.
The two other people in the vehicles were not found and have not been identified.
