1 dead in crash in Hurst
HURST, Ill. (KBSI) – One person died in a crash in Hurst on Saturday, July 6.
Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a crash near the intersection of Illinois State Route 149 and Lockeyville Road in Hurst at 11:53 a.m. on Saturday, July 6.
Deputies say the preliminary investigation revealed that a garbage truck was traveling south on Illinois State Route 149 when the driver lost control and crashed with a SUV that was traveling north on Illinois State Route 149.
The driver of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Illinois State Police – ISP Commercial Vehicle Officer and Accident Reconstruction team assisted Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies. Hurst EMS, Hurst Fire, United Ambulance, Carterville Fire and Williamson County Fire also assisted at the scene.
