1 facing drug charges after traffic stop in Wickliffe

WICKLIFFE, Ky. (KBSI) – A Georgia native faces drug charges in Ballard County after a traffic stop.
Kali Urenamarte of Byron, Georgia faces charges of reckless driving, operating on a suspended/revoked operator license, possession of a controlled substance – first degree, first offense (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia – buy/possess.
A Ballard County Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Fusion that was traveling west on Hwy. 286 in Wickliffe on Oct. 1 about 3:46 a.m.
The car was driven by Kali Urenamarte of Byron, Georgia. Urenamarte has a revoked driver’s license, according to the sheriff’s office.
The deputy deployed K9 Kony. After the K9 Kony alerted to the presence of illegal narcotics a search found two baggies of methamphetamine and numerous items related to drug paraphernalia, according to the sheriff’s office.
Urenamart was arrested and taken to the Ballard County Jail.
