1 injured after crash takes down traffic signal at entrance to McCracken County High School

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – One person is injured after a crash took down a traffic signal on U.S. 60/Hinkleville Road at the entrance to McCracken County High School in western McCracken County Tuesday morning.
McCracken County sheriff’s deputies responded to an injury crash on Hwy. 60 at the intersection of the McCracken County High School around 8:48 a.m. on June 4.
Kent Wallace, 53, of Paducah, was driving a 2020 Jeep Gladiator westbound on Hwy. 60.
Sheriff’s deputies say Wallace’s vehicle left the north side of the road and struck a metal utility pole.
He had to be cut out from his vehicle by mechanical means.
Wallace was taken to a local hospital and later flown out of state for his injuries.
As a result of the crash, the traffic lights for this intersection became inoperable. The state highway department temporarily placed stop until the lights can be repaired.
McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted on scene by Concord Fire Department, West McCracken Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, Jackson Purchase Energy Corporation and KY State Highway Department.
