1 injured, cited after pickup truck, train collide in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – One person was injured in a crash involving a pickup truck and a train in McCracken County on Thursday.

Ryan Green, 39, of Paducah was driving a 2014 GMC pickup westbound on Krebs Station Road.

Green drove through the intersection and was struck by the inbound train, according to the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office.

It happened around 7:11 a.m. on June 2 at in the 2600 block of Krebs Station Road at the railroad crossing just west of Husband Road.

The traffic control devices at the railroad crossing were activated at the time (audible bell and flashing red lights), according to the sheriff’s office.

Green was freed from the vehicle by Hendron Fire Department and taken to a local hospital for treatment of incapacitating injuries.

He was issued a citation for disregarding railroad crossing flasher lights.

The McCracken County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by Hendron Fire Department, Mercy Regional Ambulance, Jason’s Collision Center and P&L Railroad.
