1 injured in motorcycle crash near Symsonia

GRAVES COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A Mayfield man was injured in a motorcycle crash south of Symsonia on Saturday.

Graves County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to area of 1531 KY 534 for a motorcycle crash with injuries around 5:08 p.m. on Saturday, June 8.

It happened just south of Symsonia near the Marshall County line.

Deputies say Charles Blake Smith, 22, of Mayfield, was driving a 2006 Harley Davidson northbound on KY 534.

They say he lost control of the motorcycle in a curve which caused the motorcycle to slide onto its side, cross the center lane, leave the roadway and collide with a tree.

Smith was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Smith was taken to Symsonia Elementary School by Marshall County EMS where, due to the severity of his injuries, he was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.

Deputy Chad Hall investigated the crash. Deputy John Cavin, the Kentucky State Police, Mayfield/Graves County EMS, Marshall County EMS, Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the Symsonia Fire Department assisted with the investigation.
