1 juvenile dead, 3 others injured in crash involving stolen vehicle near Marion, IL

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, Ill. (KBSI) – One person is dead and three others in critical condition after a crash Monday morning south of Marion, Ill.

Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on Cochran Road just south of Marion at 6:38 a.m. on Monday, April 29.

The vehicle was traveling eastbound. It left the road and and struck a tree.

All four juveniles in the vehicle were taken to local hospitals with serious injuries.

The driver has since been pronounced dead, according to Williamson County Sheriff’s deputies.

The remaining three passengers are in critical condition, according to sheriff’s deputies.

The name of the driver and passengers are withheld pending notification of family.

The vehicle involved in the traffic crash was reported stolen from a home in Johnston City.

The remains an ongoing investigation.
