1 woman, 2 children die in multi-vehicle crash in Livingston County

LIVINGSTON COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – A woman and two children died in a multi-vehicle crash in Livingston County on Monday.

It happened at at the 32 mile marker of Interstate 24.

The westbound lanes of Interstate 24 were closed for several hours

Kentucky State Police Post 1 troopers continue to investigate the collision.

A preliminary investigation revealed a 2022 Kenworth truck with a 2011 Great Dane semi-trailer, driven by Mansur Kholikov, 24, of Brooklyn, New York, was traveling westbound on I-24.

Traffic was slowed near the 32 mile marker westbound, approaching the construction zone at the Tennessee River Bridge.

For reasons still under investigation, KSP troopers say the truck driven by Kholikov did not slow with the rest of traffic. The truck collided with multiple other vehicles and caused secondary collisions involving a total of five other vehicles.

One involved vehicle was engulfed in flames first responders arrived.

There were three people in that vehicle, Saundra Dodd, 68, of Evansville, Indiana, along with two children. All three people in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.

Two people in other vehicles involved in the crash were flown to out of state hospitals by Air Evac. Additional people were transported to local hospitals.

Kholikov did not report any injuries.

Westbound I-24 traffic was detoured off at the U.S. 62 Eddyville-Kuttawa Exit 40 interchange to follow U.S. 62 West to Exit 27 at Calvert City, according to Keith Todd with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The road reopened  Monday night.

The crash remains under investigation by KSP Detective Nate Moore with the Post 1 Collision Reconstruction Team. KSP Post 1 was assisted on scene by multiple other law enforcement agencies, fire/rescue departments, EMS personnel and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.
