10-acre wildfire burning in Land Between the Lakes, public urged to avoid area

LAND BETWEEN THE LAKES, Ky./Tenn., (KBSI)— Fire crews are responding to a wildfire in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area, officials said.

The U.S. Forest Service said the fire is estimated at about 10 acres and is located on Forest Service Road 347 off Laura Furnace Road. The area is east of Wranglers Campground and is expected to impact horse trails near Ford’s Bay.

Officials are asking the public to avoid the area while crews work to contain the fire.
