10 face drug, firearms charges after investigation
CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Ten people were arrested over the July 4 weekend. They face drug, firearms and other charges.
The Calloway County and Marshall County Sheriff’s Office’s arrested 10 people over the course of the 4th of July holiday weekend following a month-long drug investigation.
Narcotic Detectives conducted several search warrants at numerous homes. They say they made several undercover controlled drug purchases in Calloway County resulting in the seizure of more than 1.14 pounds of crystal methamphetamine packaged ready for sale, 4.5 pounds of marijuana, a half-pound of Psilocybin mushrooms, ecstasy, anabolic steroids, numerous scheduled narcotics including Hydrocodone, Oxycodone, Xanax, and various other prescription only pills.
Detectives also seized and recovered four different handguns during the investigation. One gun was reported stolen out of Tennessee.
Andrew S. Heckathorn, 32, of Murray, faces a charge of possession of methamphetamine.
Travis N. Ashley, 44, of Murray faces charges of possession of methamphetamine (firearm enhanced) and receiving stolen property (firearm).
Victoria J. Overman, 34, of Paducah faces charges of possesion of marijuana and possession of ecstasy.
John W. Cloud, 50, of Murray faces a charge of conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine.
Michael W. Murphy, 61, of Murray faces a charge of conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine.
Chad M. Bowers, 47, of Murray faces a charge of conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine.
Darren L. Brandon, 48, of Murray faces a charge of conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine.
Patricia S. Jones, 53, of Murray faces a charge of conspiracy to trafficking methamphetamine over two grams.
Karen R. Ashley, 47, of Murray faces charges of trafficking marijuana (firearm enhanced), trafficking methamphetamine (firearm enhanced), trafficking anabolic steroids (firearm enhanced), trafficking hallucinogens (firearm enhanced), trafficking legend drugs (firearm enhanced), trafficking Xanax (firearm enhanced), trafficking Oxycodone (firearm enhanced), trafficking Hydrocodone (firearm enhanced), possesion of drug paraphernalia, receiving stolen property (firearm) and possession of handgun by a convicted felon.
Brandi N. Mayo, 36, of Murray faces charges of trafficking methamphetamine (firearm enhanced), trafficking Hydrocodone (firearm enhanced), trafficking Xanax (firearm enhanced), possession of opiates (firearm enhanced), resisting arrest, fleeing or evading police 2nd degree (on foot), tampering with physical evidence, possession of handgun by a convicted felon, possession of marijuana and endangering the welfare of a minor.
All 10 people who were arrested were taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
