12-year-old injured after shots fired into Lilbourn home, sheriff says

LILBOURN, Mo., (KBSI) — A 12-year-old child was injured in an early morning shooting Saturday in Lilbourn, according to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded around 3:30 a.m. to a shooting on Weeks Street after reports that a home had been struck by gunfire.

Authorities said the child, who was inside the house at the time, was also struck by gunfire. The child was taken by ambulance for treatment and is currently listed in stable condition.

Investigators conducted a neighborhood canvass following the shooting and are asking for the public’s help as the investigation continues.

Anyone living near Weeks Street, North 4th Street, North 5th Street or North 6th Street with surveillance footage or information about suspicious activity is asked to contact the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office.
