PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Paducah police arrested a 17 and 18 year old after a report of “shots fired” Tuesday night.

A 17-year-old boy faces a charge of attempted first-degree assault.

Ta’Nashia Askew, 18, of Bronson Avenue in Paducah was arrested on a warrant charging her with second-degree assault.

The 17 year old was charged and Askew was arrested on an unrelated warrant after a series of incidents – including a report of “shots fired” – Tuesday night.

Paducah police were called to Bronson Avenue just after 10:30 p.m. Tuesday after shots were heard in the area.

Several people reported hearing shots. Askew told investigating officers that she and a juvenile had been in an argument earlier in the evening.

Askew said the argument occurred about 8 p.m. and that the 17-year-old boy had tried to run over her with a car, according to police. Police say a witness confirmed her story.

At 10:30 p.m., several witnesses said they heard shots. Officers found no shell casings or damage to homes or vehicles in the area where witnesses said the shots were fired.

A short time later a resident of Bronson Street called police to report he found bullet holes in the rear of his home, in the opposite direction of where the shots reportedly were heard.

Officers found several shell casings in the alley behind the home.

At 4:15 a.m. Wednesdayday, the juvenile was spotted driving near Bronson Avenue. His vehicle was stopped and he was arrested on a charge of attempted first-degree assault for trying to hit Askew with his car. He was taken to the McCracken County Juvenile Detention Facility.

A computer check revealed an unrelated outstanding warrant charging Askew with second-degree assault. She was arrested and booked into McCracken County Regional Jail.
