2 arrested, 3 shot after gunshots heard in Sikeston

SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Three people were injured and two were arrested after several gunshots were heard when officers cleared a large crowd late Saturday night in Sikeston.

Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers saw a large crowd in the area of Branum and Lora in Sikeston on April 13 around 11 p.m.

Officers began to clear the large gathering when several gun shots were heard.

Officers foudn two suspects in the area at the time of the gun shots and arrested them.

Their names have not been released.

Officers found three victims with gunshot wounds as well as several vehicles struck by the gunfire.

All three victims were taken from the scene to be treated for their injuries.

Officers are not releasing the names of the victims.

The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated. It is under investigation.
