2 arrested after 2 killed, 14 others shot in Charleston

CHARLESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Two men face charges after a two people were killed and 14 others were shot on Feb. 19 in Charleston.

Kevon Z. Evans-McClinton, 21 and Zatryus R. Moore, 19, both of Charleston each face two counts of murder second degree, two counts of assault first degree, four counts of unlawful use of weapon and four counts of armed criminal action. Both men were arrested on Friday, Feb. 25.

Two women were killed in the shooting. They are identified as Brianna N. Schumer, 19, of Cape Girardeau and Clintayzia D. Clark, 23, of Cape Girardeau.

Additional charges against Evans-McClinton and Moore are expected soon, according to Charleston Director of Public Safety Robert Hearnes. They were being held at the Mississippi County Jail on no bond warrants.

The Charleston Department of Public Safety is seeking people who attended the party, witnesses, or anyone with photos or videos of the incident to come forth. The possibility of additional suspects has not been ruled out.
