2 arrested after 2 shot, killed in Poplar Bluff

POPLAR BLUFF, Mo. (KBSI) – Two people were arrested in connection with two shooting deaths in Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff police officers were notified around 3:17 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9 of a shooting victim brought to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.

Officers learned a 34-year-old Poplar Bluff resident had died from his injuries and was pronounced dead.

The preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting happened at a home in the 600 block of North Main Street in Poplar Bluff.

Investigators responded to the scene and found a second victim, a 23-year-old Poplar Bluff resident, dead.

Investigators continue to conduct interviews. They are examining physical evidence and reviewing area surveillance as part of their investigation.

Antonio Whitehorn, 21, of Poplar Bluff and Stormy Ward, 18, of Poplar Bluff were arrested.

Whitehorn is being held on possible charges of charges of murder 2nd degree and robbery 1st degree.

Ward is being held on possible charges of hindering prosecution and tampering with physical evidence.

Additional arrests are expected.

Autopsies on both of the victims are scheduled for Thursday, January 11. The names of the victims have not been released.
