2 arrested after drugs found when deputies respond to assist driver

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people face charges after sheriff’s deputies were called to assist a driver in McCracken County.

Aaliyah Jones, 22, of Ledbetter faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of controlled substance 1st offence, drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, possession of controlled substance 3rd degree drug unspecified, trafficking in controlled substance 3rd degree 1st offense dosage unit greater than 120, promoting contraband 1st degree and prescription controlled substance not in proper container 1st offense.

Sean Conger 27, of Paducah was a passenger in the vehicle. Deputies say he was also found to be under the influence of drugs. He was arrested for public intoxication.

McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 12.5 mile marker of Interstate 24 to assist a driver around 1:40 p.m. on June 29.

Deputies found the driver, Jones, had called 911 to report she was stranded with a flat tire.

They say Jones had hit a guard rail and caused extensive damage to her vehicle.

Deputies say Jones was determined to be under the influence of a controlled substance. She was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence along with other drug charges.

They searched the vehicle and say they found a large quantity of a controlled substance thought to be Alprazolam. Deputies say they also found marijuana in the vehicle.

Jones and Conger were take to the McCracken Regional Jail.
