2 arrested after sheriff’s deputies say they stole trail camera, other items

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people face charges after sheriff’s deputies say they stole several tools, a trail camera and cut off LED lights off an excavator.
Anthony Adkins and Beatrice Ford face charges of trespassing 2nd degree, possession of meth (2nd offense) and receiving stolen property in the amount of $1000 less than $10,000.
Deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff’s Department responded to the 5600 block of Oaks Road on July 7 for a report of theft of property.
When deputies arrived, they learned that someone had stolen several tools, a trail camera, and LED lights on an excavator located on the property had been cut off.
The property owner had photos taken from his trail camera before it was stolen which showed a male and a female trespassing on the property just prior to the thefts.
The suspects were identified as Anthony Adkins and Beatrice Ford, both of Paducah.
Adkins and Ford lived in a camper not far from the property where the thefts occurred. Deputies went to Adkins’ address to speak to him about the photos.
On initial contact, no one came to the door. While checking to make sure there wasn’t a back exit to the camper, deputies saw items that were reported stolen lying next to the camper. Deputy Miller then sent a photo of those items to the property owner, who confirmed the items belonged to him.
