2 arrested in connection with death of 10-month-old infant

EARLINGTON, Ky., (KBSI) — A mother and her boyfriend have been arrested in connection with the death of a 10-month-old infant.

Kentucky State Police said Samantha Stagner, 27, and Dayton Mason, 29, both of Earlington, were charged with first-degree manslaughter.

The infant was pronounced dead at a residence in Earlington on Aug. 3, police said. An autopsy determined the cause of death was foul play.

Stagner and Mason were arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing.
