2 children seriously injured in Stoddard County UTV crash

STODDARD COUNTY, Mo., (KBSI) — Two children were seriously injured Thursday evening when a utility terrain vehicle ran off a Stoddard County road and overturned.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 6:50 p.m. Aug. 13 on County Road 731, about one mile east of Dexter.
Troopers said an 11-year-old boy from Dexter was driving a 2019 Polaris RZR north when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and overturned.
The 11-year-old driver and a 10-year-old boy who was a passenger suffered serious injuries.
Both children were flown to SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
According to the crash report, both children were using safety devices at the time of the crash. The Polaris was totaled.
