2 dead after house fire in Sikeston
SIKESTON, Mo. (KBSI) – Two people died in a fire Sunday in Sikeston.
Sikeston Department of Public Safety officers responded to a report of a fire at a home in the 700 block of Hickory on February 11 in the early morning hours.
When officers arrived on scene, flames and smoke were coming from the house.
Firefighters began to fight the fire. They were told people were possibly still inside the home.
Two people were found dead.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The names of those who died have not been released.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been requested to aid in the investigation.
Several area fire departments responded to the scene.
