2 drivers injured in school bus, minivan crash in Jackson County

MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (KBSI) – Two people were injured when a school bus and minivan crashed in Jackson County Monday afternoon.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office was notified at 1:29 p.m. of a crash on IL-127 and Hoffman Road in rural Murphysboro.

A preliminary investigation reveals a minivan struck a school bus, nearly head on while traveling in opposite directions.

No children or passengers were on the school bus or in the minivan when they crashed, according to the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office.

Both drivers were taken from the scene by ambulance to a local hospital for medical treatment.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash.
