2 face burglary, trespassing charges in Mt. Vernon

MT. VERNON, Ill. (KBSI) – Two people from Mt. Vernon face burglary and trespassing charges.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a burglary in progress at 9047 N. Triton Lane in Mt. Vernon on Sunday, April 30.

Deputies arrived and while searching the property found two suspects.

Baron D. Fleener, 23, of Valier and Brittany L. Cassidy, 26 of Mt. Vernon were at the home, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.

During the initial search and contact with the suspects evidence of criminal activity was identified and collected, according to the sheriff’s office.

Fleener and Cassidy were arrested and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.  They each face charges of residential burglary and criminal trespass to residence.

Their bonds are to be set by a judge.
