2 face charges after burglaries from Paducah storage unit

PADUCAH, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people from Metropolis, Ill face charges after McCracken County sheriff’s deputies investigated burglaries from a storage unit in Paducah.

Justin C. Lloyd of Metropolis Ill. faces two counts of burglary 3rd degree, possesion of controlled 1st degree 1st Offense methamphetamine, receiving stolen property $1,000 to $10,000, theft by deception-include cold checks, drug paraphernalia-buy/possess, reckless driving, no registration receipt, failure to produce insurance card and disregarding stop sign.

Shanna K. Hooks of Metropolis, Ill. faces charges of FTA warrant, possession of controlled substance 1st degree 1st offense (methamphetamine) and drug paraphernalia-buy possess.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to 3542 Lovelaceville Road in Paducah on January 8.

They received a report that a storage unit had been burglarized.

Deputies contacted the victim who had received a call from the facility manager who told her they found her lock missing as they were doing their routine checks.

On February 1, sheriff’s deputies responded to Mansfield’s Storage at 9710 Old US 60 in reference to prior thefts that had occurred at the storage facility.

It was determined that 12 storage units had been burglarized.

Deputies on scene reviewed security footage.

A grey Jeep Grand Cherokee can be seen entering the storage facility.

On Februar 28, McCracken County Sheriff’s deputies responded to 9510 US 60 in West Paducah for a report of another storage unit burglary. It was reported that a total of eight units had been broken into.

Detectives were reviewed security footage. The same grey Jeep Grand Cherokee could be seen entering the storage facility during the time of the theft.

Detectives determined the suspect to be Justin C. Lloyd of Metropolis, Ill.

McCracken County sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a grey Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Lloyd on February 29.

A passenger in the vehicle was identified as Shanna K. Hooks of Metropolis, Ill.

Deputies found methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and burglary tools during the traffic stop.

Lloyd and Hooks were arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail.

On March 4, McCracken County Sheriff’s Office detectives and Metropolis, Ill. police detectives conducted a search warrant on Lloyd home in Metropolis.

Detectives recovered multiple items of stolen property that were reported by multiple victims in the recent storage unit burglaries.
