2 face charges after homicide in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, Ill. (KBSI) – Two people face charges after a homicide in Carbondale on April 28.

Police say the homicide took place in the 700 block of South Lewis Lane around 10:53 p.m.

Dewayne E. Jones, 37, and Jeffrey J. Harris, 24, both of Carbondale face charges.

Jones is charged with murder, aggravated discharge of a firearm and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

Harris is charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and aggravated battery.

The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notifications.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
