2 face charges after shooting outside Cape Girardeau convenience store

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KBSI) – Two people face charges after shots were fired outside a Cape Girardeau convenience store on March 10.

Jerrod D. Willis and Cadesia S. Willis each face charges of assault – 1st degree or attempt, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weaon – subsection 4 – exhibiting.

Cape Girardeau police responded to a shooting at a convenience store on March 10.

Someone who was at the store to make a purchase told police he was confronted by Jerod Willis. He said Willis had an “AR” styel rifle and yelled at him to not mess with his brother. The person said he was also armed and pulled out his 9mm handgun when Willis threatened him, according to the probable cause statement.

The witness said Willis got into a yellow Corvette and left the parking lot. He said he walked out of the store and saw a male stick the rifle out the window of the car as it was driving away. He told police he thought Willis was going to shoot at him so he fired toward the car.

Another person told police Cadesia Willis tried to pick a fight with him/her.

Video suveillance shos someone with a handgun leaving the store and Jerrod Willis with an assault style rifle on the parking lot and when he entered the store.
