2 face drug charges after outstanding warrants served in Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – Two women face drug charges after police officers went to a home in Mayfield to serve two outstanding warrants.

Jacqueline Wright, 23, of Mayfield faces charges of trafficking in controlled substance 1st degree (meth) and possession of drug paraphernalia. Wright was also charged with contempt of court in reference to the original warrant.

Barbara Nelson, 32, of Mayfield faces a charge of contempt of court in reference to an unrelated case.

On August 14 around  p.m., officers with the Mayfield Police Department went to a home on North 11th Street to serve two outstanding arrest warrants.

As officers placed Nelson and Wright under arrested they could see drug paraphernalia in plain view, according to the Mayfield Police Department.

Officers applied for a search warrant of the home, and seized more than two ounces of methamphetamine and assorted items of drug paraphernalia.
