2 face drug charges after sheriff’s deputies search home in Mayfield

MAYFIELD, Ky. (KBSI) – Two people face drug charges after authorities searched a home in Graves County.

Christopher L. Lester, 33, of Paducah and Shayla M. Harper, 26, of Mayfield were arrested.

Authorites served a search warrant for an apartment on Windhaven Court.

Sheriff’s detectives and deputies received information about suspected Fentanyl trafficking. They had also received information that two suspects who were wanted on arrest warrants out of McCracken County.

Lester and Harper were found inside the apartment.

Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden says numerous dosage units of Fentanyl were found during the search. He says they found synthetic marijuana and marijuana.

Lester was out on bond in McCracken County for trafficking in Fentanyl and additional cases for possessing it. He had pending drug charges in Graves County stemming from a possession charge in May 2024. He has three pending Fentanyl cases waiting to be adjudicated in McCracken County when he was arrested on July 3 in Graves County.

Sheriff Hayden says Lester admittingly possessed numerous dosage units of it.

Lester was found guilty of shoplifting in Graves County on June 20. He has also been convicted of crimes while out on bond for others.

Harper was out on bond in both Graves and McCracken counties on outstanding and pending drug charges.

Both had active arrest warrants out of McCracken County for bond violations.

Lester and Harper were both taken to out of county detention centers.
