2 face drug charges after traffic stop in Murray

CALLOWAY COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two men face drug charges after a traffic stop in Murray.

Dorian J. Rudolph, 37, of Louisville faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana, trafficking methamphetamine 2nd offense (firearm enhanced) and convicted felon in possession of a handgun.

Sedez D. Rudolph, 22, of Jeffersonville, Ind. faces charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and trafficking methamphetamine 1st offense (firearm enhanced).

Calloway County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle around North 12th Street and Diuguid Drive for traffic violations around 4 p.m. on Thursday, December 15.

The driver was identified as Dorian J. Rudolph, 37, of Louisville, Ky. The passenger was identified as Sedez D. Rudolph, 22, of Jeffersonville, Ind.

Authorities searched the vehicle and found about 47 grams of crystal methamphetamine, 13.5 grams of marijuana, $563 in cash, digital weight scales, numerous small clear plastic baggies and other items indicative of illegal drug trafficking, according to the sheriff’s office.

A loaded handgun was also found hidden under the hood of the vehicle near the engine.

Rudolph is a convicted felon. He is prohibited from possessing a firearm. Authorities say he has an extensive violent criminal history with guilty convictions for charges including assault 1st, robbery 1st, burglary 1st, trafficking cocaine and many others out of Jefferson County, Ky

He was recently released from prison on parole after serving a lengthy sentence for those charges.

Both suspects were arrested and taken to the Calloway County Detention Center.
