2 face drug charges in McCracken County

MCCRACKEN COUNTY, Ky. (KBSI) – Two men face drug charges in McCracken County after the sheriff’s office received complaints of illegal drug trafficking.
Joel B. Humphrey, 44, of Wilton Circle in McCracken County faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater offense (greater or equal to two grams methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of a controlled substance, 1st degree, 2nd or greater offense (opiates) and promoting contraband 1st degree.
Drug Division detectives of the McCracken County Sheriff’s Office had received tips and complaints alleging illegal drug trafficking was taking place at a home on Lovelaceville Florence Station Road East in McCracken County. During the investigation, detectives determined the resident, Joe V. Crayton, 56, was distributing crystal methamphetamine.
On Friday, September 6, around 2:30 p.m., detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at Crayton’s home. Deputies say about 30 grams of crystal methamphetamine, marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, items of drug paraphernalia indicative of trafficking illegal drugs were found and seized, along with U.S. currency believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Joe V. Crayton, 56, of Lovelaceville Florence Station Road East in McCracken County faces charges of trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st degree, 1st offense (greater or equal to two grams methamphetamine), drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, possession of a controlled substance, 2nd degree (hallucinogen) and possession of marijuana.
Crayton was arrested and transported to the McCracken County Regional Jail on a $10,000 bond.
In a separate investigation, drug Division detectives from both McCracken and Marshall County sheriff’s offices received tips and complaints alleging Joel B. Humphrey, 44, of McCracken County was distributing crystal methamphetamine.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Humphrey’s home on Wilton Circle in McCracken County.
Detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at Humphrey’s home just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, September 7.
Deputies say more than 50 grams of crystal methamphetamine and items of drug paraphernalia, such as digital scales, were located and seized along with US currency believed to be proceeds from illegal drug sales.
Humphrey was arrested and taken to the McCracken County Regional Jail where is being held on a $16,000 bond.
During the booking process at the jail, deputies say Humphrey was seen retrieving a bag of Dilaudid pills he had concealed on his body and tried to conceal them further.
